Lovish Kasrija

Lovish Kasrija is a Ph.D. student in the Agricultural Engineering Technology & Business program at Mississippi State University and a member of the Geospatial Computing for Earth observation Research (GCER) Lab under the supervision of Dr. Vitor S. Martins. His research interests center on agricultural remote sensing, satellite data processing, crop phenology analysis, and precision agriculture. Before joining the GCER Lab, Lovish earned his M.S. in Biological Sciences from Tennessee State University, where his research focused on greenhouse gas dynamics in bioenergy cropping systems under climate-smart agriculture practices. His work combined field experiments with quantitative data analysis and mega-analysis to evaluate the effects of agricultural management practices on crop productivity and environmental sustainability.

Building on this background, Lovish aims to integrate remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and emerging data science techniques to develop practical tools for agricultural monitoring. His long-term research interests include crop health assessment, vegetation monitoring, satellite-based analysis of agricultural landscapes, and advancing precision agriculture through innovative remote sensing applications. He holds a B.S. in Agriculture (Honors) from Punjab Agricultural University, which laid the foundation for his interdisciplinary approach to agricultural and environmental research.
